If one counted up all the non-evangelical homeschoolers the total would greatly outnumber the fundamentalists.

Remember, McCain does a lot of things right and is a great heroic war veteran who genuinely puts his country first, but Creationism is one key area where he is completely wrong and could potentially create a major setback for American students and businesses. We can’t let America fall behind foriegn countries in the departments of Science and Technology because of his superstitious beliefs.

I just wanted to clarify that we are talking about physical abuse from religious parents who believe in the pearls book. As many Fundamentalist Christians homeschool there is a link between homeschooling and abuse. I think what needs to be clarified is that I am talking about physical abuse and not sexual abuse.

I agree that the Pearl’s books are harmful, vile publications that should never be used as guides for raising children, but I cannot support the dissemination of any material that suggests as a group homeschoolers are generally abusive to their children. Child abuse is NOT a homeschooling issue, it’s a social issue. Educational method – be it homeschooling, public school, or private school – isn’t an indicator of abuse. There is no educational setting that guarantees against abuse. What we are talking about in regard to the Pearls has little to do with education and everything to do with religion. The parents’ religious beliefs are the #1 factor. Fundamentalist Christians are more likely to follow the Pearl’s advice than families with different beliefs. Some of the people who agree with the Pearls may indeed be educating their children at home, but their religion is heart of this issue, not homeschooling.

The anecdotal experience, the balance of religious and secular home-educators in the UK seems to be very different division than there is in the US And while I avoid groups with a religious remit, there are no where near as many here as I had to weave and dodge in the U.S. More people seem to be choosing to home-educate as a lifestyle choice or a response to bullying or the special needs of their child than as a religious choice, but the UK is far from the religious nation that the US is.

When I wrote the critique for another blog’s owner, I expected a lot of flack as thousands of Christians view them as God and their words as gospel. Imagine my surprise when I found as many as are FOR them there are just as many AGAINST them!

My blog is a call for balance in living- something the Pearls and those who try to emulate them, lack.

This is probably the only place where we can agree on something! LOL

I can believe that a purple-spotted unicorn with two heads lives in the sky and hands out divine wisdom. But that doesn’t mean I should run around trying to pass laws based on what the purple-spotted unicorn “tells” me. Faith in the imaginary and supernatural is disturbingly similar to a serious mental condition.

As for love, I have plenty. I am grateful for life and the ability to give and receive love. I am awed at the mysteries of the world and our universe. I find nature quite moving and wonderous. This has nothing whatsoever to do with believing in a mythical, quarrelsome deity.

It strikes me as lunacy to worship an invisible, imaginary entity out of fear that said invisible, imaginary being might send an invisible, imaginary part body part (the soul) to an invisible, imaginary place called hell. But I’m sure this all sounds quite reasonable to you.

Christians have the law (as in the Bible) to follow. But we try and prevent moral decline, because with each liberal concession society gets further and further away from God.

The hearts are hardenned, and no amount of love or fear could persuade them back to seeking God.

The last paragraph of my post is COMPLETELY SARCASTIC and intended to highlight the cruelty of parents who use torture devices on their kids. At no point was I actually giving advice to child abusers. Please do take the time to fully read a post and understand the writer’s position before you comment on it in error.

That's all really beside the point. Whether or not America was meant to be a multi-cultural society, it certainly is now. The "Day of the Rope" is a pipe dream. No attempt throughout human history has ever secured this country for the exclusive use of whites. I wouldn't entertain any ideas of grandeur about the possibilities of this happening in the future, either.

Regardless of what you see in the mirror every morning, you are most certainly descended from the same people as every other person on the face of the earth. You have millions of unknown ancestors, each of which contributed to your DNA. Race is a socially invented classification system with no basis in science. Genetically we are 99.9% identical. As a nation, we should not continue to uphold ideas and actions which are bigoted, racist, sexist or which cater to just one religion simply because it's what "used to be done". We can evolve, move forward, and learn from our previous blunders.

The country was founded by and for whites, it was only when the Jews started implimenting their plan for racial destruction that the white race became an endangered species, making it imperative to increase our numbers.

The “Day Of The Rope” is not some kind of futuristic fantasy, it is the way traditional Americans behaved, before the Jew-controlled media started indoctrinating us with egalitarian propaganda and making it politically incorrect to do anything but support the tenets of Jewish supremacism.

I think far too many people have lost sight of this once great nation’s history, and think that it was always meant to be a multicultural society when nothing could be further from the truth.

I once dated a guy that didn’t like food. He hated eating and detested the act of doing so. He often said it would be wonderful if science could truly come up with a meal pill that would take the place of food. I’m not sure what I ever saw in him…

We both keep our mouths closed, and only open them to build each other up, weight wise. I’m very thin (skinny as a rail my boss just told me), and she’s overweight for a lot of different reasons, only a couple of them that she could control. We’re the odd couple, but we’ve never criticized each other over our weights. She also understands that telling me to “just eat more” probably isn’t going to work for me just as telling her to eat less when she already eats normally won’t work for her. We also like you decided that society judges enough, that we should create a space where those things didn’t seep in.

Yeah, I saw a picture of them on their official site which had them sporting very short Catholic-schoolgirl-style skirts and looking “tough”. It’s obvious that they’re only going to look sluttier down the road.
